Sending logs by email issue on D-Link DIR-825 router Saturday, 31 March 2012

I’ve tested couple DIR-825 H/V: B1 F/V: 2.05EU and definitely there is a problem with Status > Log Page and Tools > Email Settings. When i check [Enable Email Notification] the Log Page sometimes will no longer display correctly and will terminate the session, so you need to login and try again but the same will happend. Sure thing is that the router is not sending the emails, not automatically nor manually by pressing [ Email now ] button in log page. An temporary solution at least for log page to load properly is to reboot the router but is not working 100%. Instead you can go to Tools > Email Setting, uncheck [ Enable Email Notification] and save, then you can check the option again if need to have logs emailed, all settings will be stored event you save with email notification disabled. Anyway you may choose to not enable notification because the router is not sending emails anyway, so why bother ?

Update 15.04.2012

Update to latest firmware doesn’t solve the problem [ DIR-825_fw_revb_205EUb09_07_all_multi_20120106.zip ]
Restore to factory defaults after firmware update doesn’t help either.
I’ve managed to understand, i’ve used another server and i saw from logs there are some problems in header, most likely thats it, some servers with strict antispam policy reject from the start messages with no FROM / TO headers.
