  • Lenovo Essential B580 – Intel B970 laptop can be found in stores (Europe) at the approximate price of 399 €
  • compact / sturdy case, decent materials
  • better battery lock mechanism
  • two USB 3.0 ports and Gigabit NIC adapter
  • new added surfaces that are shiny, less scratch resistant
  • strange noise that comes out from optical unit
conclusion_pen In terms of performance, compared with B570e series, B580 comes with some gain but not convincing (around 8%), anyway technically is no reason to get more when you have almost the same platform. The processors are identical with little difference, 100MHz for CPU and a 50MHz for GPU. The mainboard chipset is better but e talk about features like USB 3.0 and integrated Gigabit NIC. Seen that has better battery lock but with those shiny surfaces is a though choice to decide between B570e and B580 series. On the other hand seen that B570e series is not available anymore everything becomes easy.
