LED-Backlit Display uses in-plane switching (IPS) display technology which has a 178° viewing angle. Its name comes from the main difference from TN panels, that the crystal molecules move parallel to the panel plane instead of perpendicular to it. This change reduces the amount of light scattering in the matrix, which gives IPS its characteristic wide viewing angles and good color reproduction.
Multi-Touch screen is based on the same technology on iPhone. But the technology has been completely reengineered for the larger iPad surface. So whether you’re zooming in on a map, flicking through your photos, or deleting an email, iPad responds with accuracy.
Mail in landscape, you get a split-screen view showing both an opened email and the messages in your inbox. No matter which orientation you use, you can compose a new email using the large, onscreen keyboard, or delete messages with one tap. iPad works with all the most popular email providers like MobileMe, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, Hotmail, and AOL.
